Standard Portlets
The Portlet Suite consists of a rich set of standard portlets. The list of the portlets in the standard suite is given below.
NEWS
This portlet provides news articles in lists, in details, in the list of specially selected news articles, in the list of the previewed news articles.
DOSSIERS / GROUP ARTICLES
Dossiers portlet contains the functionality to group news. Users can browse content of a certain subject in a structured way.
CONTENT
This portlet is a set of features for display text content with title and body.
FORUM
This portlet serves provide for different authors posting the messages on the special subjects with ability to reply on them.
FAQ
The FAQ portlet serves to provide answers for frequently asked questions of web site visitors.
POLL
This portlet allows creating the poll, vote for the certain issue and manage all the settings, related to the active and archive poll modes.
SITEMAP
Automated generation of the sitemap of a site from the menu structure of a BEA portal. Sitemap can be viewed in different authorization modes. It is possible to use visible and hidden items.
SEARCH
This portlet provides simple search through the items of the channels on the website.
EVENTS
This portlet provides events articles in lists, in details, in the list of specially selected news articles, with an opportunity to search through the Events channel type items by the filter.
LINKS
This portlet serves to display the links in a defined in the specification document part of web-pages. The links contain theirs editable name and URL of the web-page, where they can be opened. They can be set so that they will be displayed in a stand along list to attract special user’s attention.
PRODUCT CATALOG
The purpose of the Product Catalog portlet is to provide list and details of product descriptions, filter the latter by types and categories, provide list of specially selected product descriptions.
TAXONOMY / CONTENT CATEGORIES
The Taxonomy portlet items represent terms with which different content items form for example news/articles/agenda/links can be associated. The Taxonomy items organize a tree that can be managed. The items can be displayed in normal or detail mode.
MAILINGLIST
This portlet serves to provide for different users posting the messages on the special subjects with ability to reply on them with the mail client.
WEBLOG
The purpose of the Weblog portlet is to display bloggers and their weblogs.
MEDIAGALLERY
This portlet allows easily manage and show pictures and videos. Manage and upload all media resources from within the MediaGallery portlet.
MENU AND SITEMAP
This portlet represents a set of features for display of list of site left menu category items. Standard and flexible menu is delivered with the standard portlets. The menu portlet and functionality gives the site developer a rapid start with a graphical advanced menu portlet which can be styled to will.
BANNERMANAGEMENT
This portlet is a set of features for display and management of banners in websites. Both for internal and external advertising, banner placement is an important feature which should be exploited in any enterprise setup. Both external advertising systems as well as local banners are supported.
ADMIN
This portlet contains all system settings of the website, such as: data source settings, authorization, channel sharing, portlet preferences, customizing of error pages and image management.registration / login
LOGIN
This portlet displays the form that enables user to enter the site different areas and thus have different roles as for example the role of portal administrator or content manager
BREADCRUMBS
This portlet displays a name of the section in which the users are viewing pages. If the user navigates to another page the Breadcrumbs item will display that location. Breadcrumbs offers easy insight of navigation in the site.
TOPBAR
This portlet is set of features for display of general list of top menu links in websites. It manages content located in the Topbar like images, links and search fields. User can use different authorization and type settings for different channels in different instances of one and the same portlet.
FOOTERBAR
This portlet displays a set of copyright text, links, and image in the footer part of web pages as well as makes the web pages and thus the whole web resource look integrate and complete..
INTRODUCTION
This portlet displays a text content and external and/or internal links that can be grouped according to a common theme, preceded by an advertising text when needed and placed in a set part of the website
